I ran in the predawn dark
I sang, obnoxiously in the car
Then I drove down the dead end
At the lake mouth
And watched the sun rise
Were the sugar glider lies
I can feel the drive
With the top down weather
At the edge of things
But its not quite here
But that’s alright, ‘cause I cheat
I put down all the windows
And turn on the heat
The Lake Mouth Ate My Pet
