It’s great when, jut for mood and filler for the chapter you’re writing, you invent the image of children eating sugar-skulls, during the Day of the Dead – and then you look it up, after the fact, to see what they’d really be eating, and find out that it is, in fact, sugar skulls.
It makes you feel attuned to the world.
